The Lowell Folk Festival is the largest free folk festival in the United States with three days of traditional folk music, dance, craft demonstrations, street parades and a variety of ethnic foods. The festival will take place in Lowell, Massachusetts from July 23-25. The aromas of African, Cambodian, Polish and other foods fill the air, while well known folk bands provide music throughout the three day festival. Check the website for the 2010 scheduled artists. This festival is ideal for both an adult crowd whom likes to listen to music, view art and taste ethnic cuisines, however is also a great place to bring children with attractions including hands on games put on by the Lowell Park and Recreation department. Lowell has been host to the festival since 1987 and has been a local favorite, as well as a destination for folk music lovers. Check it out!
