The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University is the oldest public arboretum in North America and a leader in plant studies. The goal of the arboretum has been to acquire wood plants such as trees, shrubs and vines. Today’s collection is filled with plants that frequent North America as well as Eastern Asia. The Arnold Arboretum’s 265 acres of flora and fauna are open and free to the public 365 days a year. You may wander the grounds on your own or tag onto one of the free walking tours that are offered selected Friday, Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays.
