Whether traveling for business or pleasure, finding the amenities you will inevitably need can be a complicated and unnerving experience. While a good concierge is always helpful, we often find we need a little something more. The last thing we want after we’ve booked flights, made reservations, prepared for meetings and planned itineraries is to maddeningly discover we forgot a dress shirt or need a haircut.
To soften this blow, we have compiled a comprehensive list of resources around the Copley Square area, intended to simplify your Boston business experience. Being located in Copley Place with the Shops at the Prudential Center and Newbury Street close by, options are plenty for all your needs.
Women
The salon options in this area are the best in Boston, with world-class stylists, services, and spas. For an excellent full service salon and day spa experience, look not further than Grettacole here at Copley Place. They feature Trish McEvoy cosmetics and the latest techniques in everything from skin care to hair extensions. Treasures & Hands Nail Salon on Boylston would be a better bet if you are not looking for full service. Once you’ve been polished and shined, stop in Gretta Luxe for some retail therapy, or stroll over to Newbury Street for a selection of great boutiques and upscale stores. Here, you can find designers such as Chanel and Valentino housed next to unique boutiques and al fresco dining. Luna Boston and Matsu both offer a selection of trendy accessories and handbags, while Louis Boston and Serenella compete for most fashion forward. Louis Boston is a must for any fashionista, as it offers a truly exceptional selection of clothing and couture. Want the look for less? Try the celebrated Poor Little Rich Girl, with two floors of designer consignment or 344 for trendy pieces that won’t break the bank.
Men
In Copley Place, visit the Art of Shaving for first-rate shaving products, and if you’re in need of a good haircut, visit Johanna Lane at G2O on Newbury Street. Lane won Best of Boston 2009, and the cuts are well priced. For business or play, there is much to be said about menswear in Boston. Louis Boston is a classic option, with high-end menswear. For something more causal, try Stel’s on Newbury.
General Convenience
If you need alterations, try Newbury Tailoring Company, and dry-cleaning is offered by The Westin Copley Place itself.
Things to Do
If you find yourself with some spare time between meetings, or need to fill your sightseeing quota, the Boston Public Library, Old South Church, and Trinity Church are all within walking distance. The Library holds an extensive rare book collection and murals from the likes of John Singer Sargeant. The Old South Church is a US Historic landmark known for its campanile; Trinity Church is known for its antiquity and architecture.
