
When you’re visiting a city made famous by a tea party in a harbor, a fan base that is as recognized as the team it cheers for, incredible seafood and youthful flocks of college students, it can be hard to decide what to do first. Sure you can start off with more popular activities like a Boston Duck Tour, a trip to Fenway, and a day on Newbury Street for some high-end shopping and some drinks at Cheers. Then, when you’re ready to experience the Hub the way Bostonians wish you could, keep reading. Regardless of your interests, Boston is an intellectual metropolis whose historic charm and modern quirks result in an addictive breath of fresh air that no other city has to offer.
If you’re worried about budgeting your taxi fare, don’t be. Most of these places can be reached by bus or by subway, and Beantown has public transportation down to a “T”. Better yet, some of the best places you can go are in walking distance of each other.
Art lovers will rejoice at the galleries available for viewing. There’s the Museum of Fine Arts, the newly built Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Student Gallery at BU, just to name a few. Those of you looking for a more eccentric art experience should definitely visit the Museum of Bad Art in Somerville, just outside of Boston.
